Ruth E. Miller, 82, Denmark, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 29, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born May 14, 1929, daughter of the late Alfred and Elsie Klipstine. She was a 1947 graduate of Nicolet High School, West De Pere. After graduation she worked at Retail Credit in Green Bay. Ruth married Alvin Miller on August 29, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, De Pere. Together they worked side by side on their family farm and raised their five children. Ruth was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Denmark, where she was involved in quilting, funeral committee, fellowship, study group and outreach; and she held various offices of the Our Savior’s Women of the ELCA. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She made every holiday special. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and crocheting. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Alvin; children: Larry (Rita) Miller, Karen (Sherwin) Schleif, Tim (Becky) Miller, Dave (special friend, Kriss Peart) Miller, and Steve (Amy) Miller; grandchildren: Lisa (Brock) VanDeVen, Brian (fiancée- Alyssa Mueller) Miller, Andy (Natalie) Schleif, Nicole (special friend, Adam Norder) Schleif, Heather (Kevin) Harding, Matt Miller, Tyler Miller, and Zach Miller; great-grandchildren: Grace, Kaleb, Nathaniel, and Sophie; brothers and sisters: Elaine Muesbeck, Carol (Donald) Hutjens, Lois (David) McAllister, Ralph (Janet) Klipstine, and William (Peggy) Klipstine; sisters-in-law: Pearl (Roland) Dahlke, and Norma Miller; Godchildren: Linda Wussow, Dan Muesbeck, Randy Muesbeck, Lori Zuege; and nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Ella Miller; step-mother in-law, Edna Miller; brothers-in-law, Donald Muesbeck and Roy Miller; and a niece, Tammy Batten. Family and friends may call Tuesday, November 1, 2011, (TODAY), from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Denmark. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at church, with the Rev. Andrew Zoerb officiating. Burial will follow in West Danish Cemetery.
