Ruth Ann Selner

August 8, 1953 — December 30, 2020

Ruth Ann Selner, age 67 of Denmark passed away peacefully on the evening of December 30, 2020 after a battle with cancer. She was born on August 8, 1953 to Raymond and the late Marian (Blaha) Selner in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Ruth graduated from Denmark High School and began a long career in banking where she worked her way up to loan processor before her retirement. She was very active in the Catholic church, as a member of the St. Lawrence Rosary Society, a catechism teacher, and member of the prayer chain. Ruth had community involvement as well, as a member of the Denmark Lions, she was the first woman member of the club, the first woman president, a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship and a Ray Hempel Fellow. She attended state and international Lions conventions all over which gave her a love of traveling. On her trips she amassed a collection of beautiful bells. Ruth was an avid bowler, as a member of the 600 club, she also participated in more than 20 national tournaments. She had an ear for music. She loved singing and played the flute. Her ear was able to point out those in the band who were off key. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she was so happy that her family were able to set up her tree this year with the lights and her collection of Czech ornaments. Ruth was proud of her farm heritage and loved to attend the 4-H dairy show at the county fair. Ruth had a love of her family and attended as many of her niece’s and nephew’s sporting, school, or musical programs as she could. She was loved and will be missed deeply by her entire family.
Survivors include her father, Raymond Selner, sisters, and brothers; Susan Selner, David Selner, Mary Rose (Gerald) Kudick and Steve (Kari) Selner, nieces and nephews; Karen (Joel) Tineo, Greg (Ian Koth) Kudick, Godson Michael (Shannon) Kudick, Emily (Taylor Fritsch) Selner and Goddaughter Madeline Selner.
