Roy A. Osen, 81, of De Pere, passed away January 6, 2012. He was born December 21, 1930 to parents Roy H. and Ethel (Schmidt) Osen. Roy graduated East De Pere High School in 1949 and attended Spencerian Business College. He was drafted into the Marine Corp during the Korean War in December of 1951, where he served until 1953, then serving in the National Guard until 1959. He married Helen Kitzerow on December 8, 1956 and worked at the family Osen Milling Wholesale Feed and Seed Company most of his life. Roy was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in De Pere, and served as secretary, financial secretary, president and custodian. He also volunteered at the De Pere Christian Outreach and worked raising funds for schools and the high school football stadium. He enjoyed sports, especially football, basketball and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Helen; children: David (Julie) and their children Lauren and Eric, Mark, Lisa and John (Dr. Jean); sister Marianne (Bill) Shane; brother-in-law Elmer Kitzerow, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Helen (Ray) Church, Dorothy, in-laws Arnold and Dorothea and brother-in-law Ralph Kitzerow. Friends and family may call at Hope Lutheran Church, 705 S. Superior St., De Pere, from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, January 10. Service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, at the Church, with Rev. John Poppe officiating. Full military rights will follow the service at Church. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
