Ronald Joseph Flahive of Green Bay, Wisconsin has gone to rest in the arms of Our Lord on May 19, 2014. One of nine children born to Thomas and Helen Flahive, Ronald was born in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his loving and caring wife Joyce of 61 years. He has been a devoted father to Karen, Kevin (Anne), Katherine (Christos), and Karlene (James), grandfather to Katherine, Maighread (John), Abigail, Matthew (Taylor), Meghan (Brian), MacKenzie (Scott), Kiersten, Christos, Cassandra, Cory, Tyla (Shane), Leah, Riley, Brody, and Bailey and great-grandfather to Piper, Harrison, Dynie, and Brynlee. While devoted to his family, Ronald dedicated his life to the military. He served in the Korean War as commander of Outpost Harry and retired after thirty years from the Army Reserves with the rank of Colonel. During his years of service, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. For much of Ronald’s life, he was employed by Wisconsin Physician’s Service. Upon retirement, he started his own insurance and financial services company. The family is grateful for the spiritual support from Resurrection Parrish, appreciative for the services of Dr. R. Stevens, Dr. M. Fuchs, and K. Hampton, NP. , and thankful for the many friends and neighbors who have helped Ronald throughout his life. Family and friends may call Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 10:00 AM until the hour of Mass at 12:00 PM at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
