Ronald ""Big Nick"" Geurts

Ronald “Big Nick” Allen Geurts, 72, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 19, 1943 in Green Bay to the late Wilbur and Ellen (Rukamp) Geurts. Ron graduated from East DePere High School with the class of 1962. He worked for a brief time in California before entering the U.S. Army in 1964. He was stationed primarily in Domstock, Germany until his honorable discharge in 1966. On February 12, 1967 he married Jeanne Krutz in Green Bay. They had three children: Julie, Nick, and Ellen. Jeanne preceded him in death on August 13, 1980. He later married Sharon (Plouff/McCoy) on November 30, 1984 and added three more children to his family: Kip, Cory and Tom. Ron’s more than one million professional highway truck driving miles took him throughout the United States working for Tectron Tube and K.I. in Green Bay for over 35 plus years. Ron enhanced his life by fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, playing cards, and tinkering in his extremely well-organized garage. Ron is survived by Sharon, his wife of 31 years, children Kip (Pam) McCoy, Cory (Michael) Borremans, Julie (Robin) Naug, Tom (Heather) McCoy, Nicholas Geurts, and Ellen (Robbie Garsow) Geurts, grandchildren Mitchell and Macy McCoy, Carly, Jackson Calvin Borremans, Camden Eure, Richelle (Willie) Van Noie, Neal and Ian Geurts, Cooper Smith, Andrea Vincent, Haley Hoegger, and Tanner Garsow, two great grandchildren Mayah and Jayda, siblings Lois and Dick Vander Heiden, Ken and Deb Geurts, Andy and Debbie Geurts, Aaron and Lana Geurts, Sara and John Heesaker, Kay Geurts, Mary Hurst, Roy Geurts, and Mary Davis. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jeanne, parents Wilbur and Ellen Geurts and Laverne Geurts, and sister and brother-in-law Sandy (John) Lacy and his dog Benji. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 2:00pm until the time of service at 5:30pm with Steve Donovan, pastoral minister, officiating.
