Roland Gustave Dahlke

Roland Gustave Dahlke, Denmark, passed on to eternal life with his Savior on December 23, 2013 at age 87 at Bornemann Nursing Home. Roland was born on August 5, 1926 to Frank and Ida (Gaedtke) Dahlke. He married Pearl Miller on September 12, 1953. Roland began operating the family dairy farm in the town of New Denmark at age 15 and he continued with Pearl until their retirement in 1991. Roland remained active on the farm assisting his son Alan until 2001. Roland was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in many capacities on Christ Lutheran Church‘s council throughout his life. Roland and Pearl enjoyed traveling in their retirement. He loved visiting with family, neighbors and friends. Roland is survived by his sons Dale (Rachel), Alan (Lori) and daughter Gloria (Chris) Mohr. Seven grandchildren, Kimberly Kroll, Sarah (Jon) Armao, Amanda (Mike) Johnson, Nathan Dahlke, Jeffrey Dahlke, Ashley Mohr, Emily Mohr. Three great-grandchildren Caden and Max Armao, Olivia Johnson. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pearl, brothers Lester (Gladys), Awald (Erna) and sister Norma (Roland) Stuebs. Visitation will be from 9 am until the hour of funeral service at 11 am on Saturday December 28, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Denmark, with the Rev. James Saatkamp officiating. Burial will be at the East Side Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark, is assisting the family.
