Roger Duane Boersma

September 25, 1939 — May 19, 2016

Roger Duane Boersma, 76 years old, of De Pere, died peacefully at home watching his final Brewers game on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Roger was born at home on September 25, 1939 to the late Lewis and Lucille Boersma in Waupun, WI weighing in at 3 lbs. The family farmed in Randolph until they moved to De Pere in 1957 where he met his wife of over 50 years, Mary Ann (Van Bogart) Boersma. Roger was trained as a photographer in the U.S. Army then worked as a professional photographer at Photography Inc. He was then instrumental in building of the De Pere Ice Center which he managed for many years. Before retiring Roger worked in sales for Parker Northland and Nekoosa Corp. Roger was one of the Brewers biggest fans as well as an avid hunter and fisherman traveling abroad to hunt and fish in Argentina and the Arctic Circle. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Hawaii, Western Europe, The Greek Aisles and Israel when he wasn’t fishing. His friends and family will miss his amazing breakfast feasts, fish fries and hospitality. As “Pa” would say, “It’s a great day to be a Redbird.” Roger is survived by his brother, Richard (Judy) Boersma, his children, Peggy, Pam, Pete, Pat (Cathy); daughter in-law, Valerie Boersma, grandchildren, Tyler, Steven, Angela, and Timothy Stoltz, Michael (Jenny) and Elizabeth Rogers, Anna Przybelski, Kaleb Boersma, and Gregg Pianosi; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Pianosi, Ethan and Lucy Rogers and Mirabella Stoltz. He is preceded in death by an infant son, his son Paul Boersma, grandson Zacherie Boersma and his wife Mary Ann. Per Roger’s wishes a private family service with inurnment at Mt.
