Robert "Robbie" William Mcmenomy

December 9, 1983 — April 5, 2024

Robert William McMenomy passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, after his 8-month battle with metastatic melanoma. He was only 40 years old, but he impacted more people than most do in a lifetime.

Known to many as Robbie, he was born in Snellville, GA, to the most wonderful parents, Pat and Geri. He grew up as the third of four boys, and he idolized and cherished his brothers throughout his life. Robbie’s childhood was filled with family “friendly” competitions in the house and backyard. He loved to draw, play sports, and watch his favorite sports teams, the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Braves. In high school, he excelled in football and tennis and began some lifelong friendships with some amazing men.

Robbie went on to play football as a tight end at the United States Air Force Academy. He became part of the Bolt Brotherhood, which was an important part of his life. His classmates showed their love and support for Robbie during his cancer battle and gave him strength every day. In 2006, Robbie graduated from the Air Force Academy with a degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to serve 5 years, including a deployment to Al Dhafra Air Force Base during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in support of the Coalition Forces. Although Robbie was quiet about his military experience, he was extremely proud of attending the Air Force Academy and serving our country.

After serving in the Air Force, Robbie worked for Shell Oil Company and continued until his passing. He met many incredible people throughout his employment. The Shell family continued to show unwavering support during his cancer diagnosis.

Robbie met his true love, Meaghan, through her brother while at graduation weekend at the Air Force Academy. They loved each other deeply and always brought out the best in one another. They married in 2011 and had four daughters: Grace, Lucy, Clara, and Ellie. Robbie’s daughters were the light of his life. He loved being a dad, and his girls always put a smile on his face. His daughters have many great memories, but they will always remember Dad’s garage parties, him bringing them to the golf course, and playing board games. He was an amazing dad.

Robbie lived his life with so much purpose and joy. At a young age, his parents instilled a strong Catholic faith that he carried until his last breath. When you were around Robbie, you wanted to be better. He had a way of bringing out the best in people. He loved organizing games, being on the golf course, having friends at the house, and being with his family. Robbie was full of kindness, always selfless, and a fierce competitor. To know him was to truly love him. As we are sad that he is not with us anymore, we know he is no longer in pain. Robbie is now in heaven, playing catch with his nephew, Anthony.

Survived by his adoring wife, Meaghan, loving daughters, Grace, Lucy, Clara, and Ellie; his parents, Pat and Geri; brothers, Joe (Derelle), Charlie (Jessica), Patrick (Blake); in laws, Tom and Sheri Durkin, Tom (Laurie), Caitlin (Andrew); nieces and nephews, Colin, Haley, Mason, Lucas, Henry, Charlotte, Violet, Tommy, Louie, Nell, Jack, Charlie, Finn. Predeceased by his grandparents, Uncle David McMenomy, and nephew, Anthony Durkin.
