Robert Reschke

Robert Reschke, 88, of Cudahy, formerly of Wrightstown, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his home. Robert was born on June 7, 1927, in Wrightstown, the son of the late Edward and Margarete (Neilson) Reschke and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wrightstown. He was raised by loving sister and brother in-law, Violet (Louie) Brown. He graduated from Wrightstown High School. Robert went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during WWII. He furthered his education to become a machinist and apprenticed with the Hudson Sharp Company. Robert held a machinist position with Paper Converting, but later owned and operated his own business as a truck driver hauling milk. He was a member of the Wrightstown American Legion for 53 years. Robert was a talented musician playing saxophone, clarinet, and accordion for many polka bands. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending his time outdoors in northern Wisconsin especially with his sisters and brother in laws,’ Irene and George at Lake Pya and Mable and Ellis at Arbutus Lake. Robert will be greatly missed as he was always loved and welcomed by everyone. Robert is survived by many many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Violet (Louie) Brown, Eleanor (Edward) Brown, Irene (George) Brown, Clarence (Emily) Reschke, Mable (Ellis) Erdman, Flora (Richard) Odeans, and his close friend, “Bern.” Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am at Nicolet Memorial Gardens, 2770 Bay Settlement Rd, Green Bay, WI 54303. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
