Robert P. Hansen

Robert P. Hansen passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024. He was born on October 9, 1936 to Robert and Toots Hansen. Bob graduated from Denmark High School in 1954 and played basketball and baseball.

Bob married Phyllis Pelischek on August 6, 1955. They both lived in the Maribel and Denmark communities their entire lives and together they enjoyed 66 years of marriage prior to Phyllis passing in March 2022. They had 5 children whom they loved very much, Kip, Pam, Gwen, Chris, and Lana.

Bob was a member of the Maribel Lions Club, Maribel Fire Department, Maribel Sportsman’s Club, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He was a family man with a big heart and loved his community. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, trap shooting, trips to Vegas, Packer games, and a good martini!

He owned and operated Hansen Oil with his wife for 28 years. Bob enjoyed conversing with all his customers and made sure he had a candy sucker to hand out to all the little kids. During planting and harvesting seasons, he made sure he was there for the farmers. He never turned down a customer with no heat who called on Christmas day. He just couldn’t see any children spending Christmas in a cold house.

Bob was very proud of all his kids and grandkids. He loved and supported them all, whether it was a good or bad time in their lives. He always made an effort to attend and cheer them on at their sporting events and didn’t miss many.

He is survived by his children: Kip (Debbie), Pam (Hank), Gwen (Mike), Chris, and Lana (Mike), grandchildren: Bryan (Emily), Katie (Katie), Richard, Mitchell, Kali (Sam), Melissa (Whitney), Craig (Kristin), Leah (Justin) Alex, and Brad; great-grandchildren: Brynlee, Bailey, Oliver, India, Maloja, Laken, Ava, Kailee, Isaac, Dominique, Veronica, and one on the way; Phyllis’s siblings: Don (Johanna), Mike (Doris), Gary (Carol), Karen (Terry), Harlan (Margaret), Ricky (Mary), and Randy (Doris); and many nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, sisters Joan (Rollie) and Corrine (Tommy), in-laws Cliff and Grace Pelischek and Joe Hallada.

Friends and family may gather on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 9:00-11:45 am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 435 Wisconsin Ave, Denmark. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Andrew Zoerb officiating.

The family would like to thank the wonderful girls at Scandinavian Court, Jessie and Angie from Aspera Hospice, and friends and family that visited Bob during his time in assisted living.
