Robert "Bob" Rogne

July 12, 1942 — December 13, 2017

Robert A. “Bob” Rogne, 75, Tipler, formerly of DePere, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born July 12, 1942 in Green Bay, WI to the late Orville Rogne and Anne Kleuskens. He graduated with the DePere High School class of 1960. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 until 1967 as a Tracked Vehicle Tractor Mechanic/Repairman; however, due to his interest in horses, the majority of his time in service was spent managing the USMC riding stables in Hawaii. He met his future wife, Katheryn Gleason of Colorado, on a blind date in California. They were married 52 days later on December 31, 1966. Bob was well versed in many trades, to include having worked as an Auto Mechanic, Welder, Farmhand/Herdsman, Diesel Tractor and Small Engine Mechanic. Prior to retiring, he worked as a Field Service Representative for U-Haul covering NE Wisconsin and the U.P. In retirement, he ran his own small engine service repair shop, along with providing yard services for area cottage and homeowners. He and Kathy also hosted numerous foreign exchange students. It didn’t matter where you went, you literally couldn’t take him anywhere without running into someone he knew or they would have mutual friends. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Kathy and his daughters, Shawn (Michael) Loveless of Noblesville, IN and Shelby (Patrick) Kussow of Greenleaf, WI. Bob is further survived by his grandchildren; Austin, Cody, Dylan and Noah Loveless, Brooke Frelich, Hunter, Preston and Garrett Kussow, and Kate Gallaher; his siblings, Betty Panten and Ronald (Laura) Rogne; in-laws, Nancy Rogne, Rob (Barb) Gleason, Dixie Coggins, Loretta (Lenny) Gedeon, Sally Gleason, Paul (Patricia) Gleason, Sheryl (Dirk) Hatter, and Debra (Vince) Svec; many nieces and nephews and his special canine buddies “Mitzi” and “Bart”. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter Stacy Rogne; parents; siblings, Dick (Joyce) Rogne and Ilo Reese; in-laws Jo Bohl and Bud Gleason. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 3pm to 7pm at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, DePere. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 11am to 12;45pm, with a service to follow at 1pm at Alleluia Lutheran Church, 6725 Elmro Rd, Town of Wrightstown with Pastor Mark Walters officiating. Bob’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Long Lake/Tipler Rescue Squad, Donald Lenehan, and Ron Carol Albers. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family or a charity of your choice in Bob’s honor.
