Rita M. Suster, 88, Denmark, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 06, 2013 at Harmony of Denmark. She was born January 8, 1925 on the family farm in the town of Glenmore to Louis and Lydia (Gerczak) Watzka. After graduating from Denmark High School, Rita lived and worked in the cities of Chicago and Milwaukee prior to marrying the love of her life Bob Suster on April 28, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glenmore. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2005. Bobby and Rita were co-owners of Suster’s Arcade in Denmark working side by side for 45 years together. Rita was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Altar Rosary Society at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. For numerous years she volunteered her time at St. Vincent Hospital. She had many years of fun with her teammates bowling in the women’s Monday night league at Suster’s and with her ladies bridge club. Through the years, Rita enjoyed knitting items for family members, had fun with the ceramics craze leaving behind many priceless pieces and never turned down an opportunity to travel. She will be dearly missed by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce (Pam) Suster, Denmark, and Byron (Cathy) Suster, De Pere; five grandchildren: Simon (Jerilyn) Suster, Denver, CO, Lindy Suster, Harrisburg, VA and her mother, Carola, Green Bay, Jared (fiancé- Ashley Smith) Suster, Davenport, IA, Kristopher Suster, Denmark, and Zachary Suster, Madison; first great-grandchild expected in March; sister, Madeline Buehler, Wausau; brothers, Delbert Watzka, Green Bay; Sheldon (Mary) Watzka, Sheboygan; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was preceded in death by two sons, infant Joseph and Gregory; two sisters, Mary Ellen Shimek and Jackie Paque Yarbrough; sister-in-law, Regina “Tootie” Watzka; brothers-in-law, Rodney “Tubby” Shimek, and Harold Buehler. Family and friends may call Monday, November 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 4:00 p.m. Monday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
