Richard "Dick" Noel

Richard L. “Dick” Noel, age 83, a resident of De Pere, Wisconsin died Saturday, January 21, 2012 following a long battle with lung disease. His entire family was with him. He was born June 9th, 1928 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Margaret (nee Van Egeren) Noel, whom he married August 5th, 1950. He is survived by three children, Richard “Rick” and Sara (nee Van Sistine) Noel of De Pere, Rebecca “Becky” Noel ( Paul DeCoster) of De Pere, and Gretchen and John DeCoster of Geneva, Illinois; four wonderful grandchildren who he adored and they adored him: Brooke Buechler, Billie Jo Buechler ( Shawn Friedrich), Michael Noel, and Patrick Noel; and one sister-in-law, Doris Noel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchel and Emma (nee DePrey) Noel, and all five of his older siblings, two brother in laws, and two sister in laws, Frances ( Ralph) Weber, Roger ( Jackie) Noel, Ruth ( Bob) Wautlet, Robert ( Evelyn) Noel, John Jack Noel[G1] . Dick drove semi-truck for Red Owl grocery stores for most of his life after proudly serving in the United States Marine Corp for 8 years. He was a member of the USMC Korea Chosen Few. He received the following recognitions and medals from the USMC: Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal. Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea/Presidential Citation, Korean War Service. For the past 21 years, every Tuesday, he had breakfast with his Red Owl buddies at Perkins in Green Bay. He loved spending as much time as possible with family as well as talking about politics. Visitation will be Monday, 4 to 8 pm at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Avenue, De Pere, Wisconsin. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 10 am. Procession will follow to Allouez Catholic Mausoleum in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
