Richard (Dick) W. Carroll, Jr. died April 3, 2023, at Rennes Health Care in De Pere.
He was born June 21, 1942, to Richard and Mary (Pokrywka) Carroll of Wrightstown, Wisconsin.
As a child he attended St. Paul Catholic School and went to Wrightstown High School where he graduated in 1961.
He lived in Wrightstown all his life until he moved to Wayside Parkview Estates, assisted living in Wayside in November of 2022.
Dick served his country in the army from 1964-1966. He was stationed in Vietnam. He was thrilled to be able to be one of the lucky guys to go on the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2014.
He enjoyed going up north, where in his lifetime, owned four different places (not all at the same time). First cabin was in Mountain, second in Pickerel, third Moody Lake (near Chute Pound), and the last place on Tar Dan Road, between Mountain and Lake Wood.
Dick enjoyed taking rides on scenic country roads and attending car shows with his 60 T-Bird. He also purchased his brother Jack’s 49 Ford Coupe and enjoyed showing that off to friends and family.
He loved working on a farm, with the hope of always owning one (which never happened). He worked for Airens in Brillion for 40 years.
He is survived by a brother and three sisters: Mary Anne (Tom) Gussert, Ed (Carol) Carroll, Florence Angell and Margaret Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack; and brother-in-law, Lee Angell.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 9:30am until 11:15am at St. Clare Catholic Parish- St. Paul Site, 437 Main St, Wrightstown, WI 54180. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Dick’s final resting place will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
