Richard “Butch” Mianecki, 86, Allouez, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015, after a short illness. He was born June 14, 1929 in Green Bay, son of the late John and Bernice (Gorski) Mianecki. Butch graduated from East De Pere High School in 1949 and served his country in the United States Army, 887th Artillery Batallion. He was a longtime member of the Bellevue VFW Winecki Post 9677. He married Rosemary Barron on May 26, 1984. Butch retired from the Green Bay Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer, with his last tenured assignment at the Oneida Honor Farm. Butch was well known for his support of the Green Bay Packers. He would display clever, witty messages supporting the team for all to see on his goalpost at his home on Webster Ave. in Allouez. Butch was a member of the De Pere Kiwanis Club, Moose Lodge 801, and a charter member of the Moose Rod and Gun Club. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; two children: Matt and Gay Marie; two grandchildren: Kenneth (Kent) and Maggie Marie; sisters: Rita Houston, Marge Zdziarski, and Ellie (Bob) VanKauwenberg; sister-in-law, Jan Minecki; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is further survived by his cherished friend, Margaret Bath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Mikulsky; and brother, Ernie Mianecki. Family and friends may visit Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Friday, November 20, 2015 (TODAY), from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at church, with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating.
