Richard "Archie" Vander Kinter

Richard M. “Archie” Vander Kinter, 58, Denmark, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. He was born in 1956 in Green Bay, son of Merlin and Bernadine (Koenig) Vander Kinter. He graduated from Denmark High School in 1974 and from UWGB, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in the Philippines. Richard married Cheryl Ropson in 1983 at St. Louis Church in Dyckesville. Archie worked as a Database Administrator in Green Bay. He enjoyed going to antique tractor shows, collecting motors and tractors, going up north, being outdoors, and loved helping others. He was an active member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Denmark, where he was currently serving on the church council. Richard will be deeply missed by his wife, Cheryl; mother, Bernadine; one brother, Thomas (Marilyn) Vander Kinter; four sisters: Paula Vander Kinter, Nancy Froehlich, Tracey (Tim) Luka, and Pamela (fiancé-Bob Valenta) Vander Kinter; mother-in-law, Virginia Ropson; brother-in-law, Dean Ropson; and sister-in-law, Becky Ropson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Lois; nephew, Jeff Vander Kinter; niece, Ashley Luka; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Kudick) Vander Kinter; and father-in-law, Roy Ropson. Family and friends may visit Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty R, Denmark, on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Denmark from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at church, with the Rev. James Saatkamp officiating.
