Richard A. Peters

August 5, 1939 — March 9, 2021

Richard (Dick) Albert Peters passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 surrounded by his family due to complications of Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s diseases. He was born on August 5, 1939, to the late Frank and Nell Peters. Richard was the oldest and the lone surviving sibling of 3 children. On June 24, 1961, Richard married the former, late Carol Ambrosius at St. Boniface Parish in DePere. Carol preceded Richard in death on October 14, 2019. Richard and Carol are now enjoying long rides in their heavenly convertible!
Richard (Cub) was an active member of Local 400, Plumbers and Steamfitters where he enjoyed a lifelong career. He and his brother, Tom, followed their dad (aka Bear) into the trade and his sons, Mike & Ron followed him into the trade. Richard proudly served on several boards with Local 400 prior to his retirement. He also proudly volunteered and attended the annual Labor Day picnic at Bay Beach. Richard also served the city of DePere as an alderman after he retired; he was a lifelong DePere resident.
Richard will be missed by his 3 loving children and their families. Son, Mike (Kay Scray) (Kay’s son, Shawn (Cheryl) Scray and their children, Jenna & Emmalee); daughter Laurie (Paul) DeBaker (and their children, Devin, Darren (Mariah) DeBaker; son Ron (Linda) (and their children Justin (Nicole) and Travis Peters). Additionally, Richard is survived by sisters-in-law, Norma & Barb Peters and Germaine & Mickey Ambrosius. As well as many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding Richard are his loving wife Carol, his brothers Tom & Gerald (Buck) Peters as well as his parents and Carol’s parents, John & Johanna Ambrosius. Additionally, Carol’s siblings: Bill & Bud Ambrosius, Luella & Henry Van Rossum, Darlene & Bob Miller, Bernice & Willie VanWychen.
Richard’s life will be honored with visitation on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere beginning at 3:00pm until a prayer service to be held at 6:30pm.
Our family would like to thank the caregivers of Allouez Parkside Village and Heartland Hospice for their care and concern.
