Regina Cleven

April 8, 1935 — January 10, 2021

Regina (Alberts) Cleven, daughter of Benjamin and Josephine (Stroobants) Alberts, passed on to Heaven January 10th, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Regina was born April 8, 1935 at home in Green Bay and was baptized April 21 at SS Peter and Paul Church.
She graduated from East Green Bay High School and worked in accounting at the Green Bay Press Gazette. Regina played the accordion and sang with her sisters in their band called “The Three Slick Chicks” playing at various venues in the Green Bay area.
In 1957, she married Donald Cleven at St. Willebrords church. Together they farmed in Wrightstown and De Pere while raising eight children.
She studied Business Law and Accounting at NWTC. Throughout her life she worked many jobs and also had her own silk flower business selling at many craft shows.
Regina was involved in her children’s activities as cub scout and 4-h leader. She was a member of St Mary’s Church and sang in the church choir and the resurrection choir.
Regina’s family was most important to her. She made many fun-loving cherished memories for them. She could cook or bake so many delicious foods without using a recipe. In addition to the accordion, Regina played the piano, the harmonica, and the popular wax paper and comb. She was very good at woodworking, sewing, storytelling, crafts, cooking, knitting, singing, yodeling... you name it, she could do anything and she passed those many talents onto her family. Every year on our birthdays she would call at a very early hour to sing or play her harmonica. Her hearty laugh and mischievous smile will live in our hearts forever.
Regina was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents, her father and mother-in-law John and Minnie Cleven. Brothers Cletus, Walter, Reggie and infant brother David. Sisters Edna Devroy, and Joan (Chick) Pigeon. Brothers-in-law Clayton Pigeon, Bob Ward, Milton Devroy, Bob Cleven, Henry Heezen, Bernard Wicker, and Arnie Schmidt. Sisters-in-law Dorothy Alberts, Erma Alberts, Blanche Heezen, Alice Wicker, and Cy Cleven.
