Raymond "Skip" Marnocha

May 14, 1937 — February 28, 2014

Raymond “Skip” Marnocha, age 76, of De Pere and formerly of Sun Prairie, passed away surrounded by his family on February 28, 2014 at the Meng Residence of Unity Hospice. The son of the late Raymond and Mary (Doyle) Marnocha was born May 14, 1937 in Green Bay. He graduated from Marquette University in 1959 and went on to work for the State of Wisconsin and most recently as Vice President of Business and Finance for the UW-System. He married the love of his life Rita Simoens on August 30, 1958 at Ss. Edward and Isidore in Flintville. He officiated basketball and football and was a coach for youth baseball. An avid golfer, Raymond had two hole in ones. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their many sporting endeavors. He was a dedicated Packer, Badger, Marquette Warrior and Brewer fan, and a professional critic of each team. He enjoyed 15 years living and golfing in Sarasota, FL. A devout catholic, Raymond volunteered frequently for the church community, as an usher and picnic worker, as well as teaching catechism with Rita for many years. Survivors include his wife, Rita, 5 sons and 11 grandchildren: Randy (Jenny) and their children, Drew, Adam and Kennedy; Jay (Jan) and their children Stephanie and Ryan (special friend Erin); Todd (special friend Carol) and children Shantel and Casey; Craig (Susan) and their children, Brynna and Lindsey; and Rob (Nancy) and their children Jesse and David; 3 brothers: Mike, John (Jean) and Doug (Julie), numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, on Monday, March 3, from 10:00am until 11:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Monday with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating and Rev. Dean Dombrowski concelebrating. Interment in Ss. Edward and Isidore Cemetery, Flintville. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences and memorials at www.cotterfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for Unity Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice, Dr. Jules Blank and his staff at Green Bay Oncology, as well as Brian Matye and Mitch Januszewski from Regulatory Compliance Associates, Inc for their generosity.
