Raymond “Ray” Detaege, age 81, of Allouez, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017. The son of Henry and Margaret (Leneau) Detaege was born October 2, 1936 in Oconto. He married Patricia Belongia and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Ray worked at Packerland Packing for many years before retirement. In his spare time enjoyed watching the Badger games, and was a Packer season ticket holder for 45 years. Ray and Pat resided in Allouez most of their married life, and were members of Resurrection Parish in Allouez. Survivors include his wife, Pat; daughter Becki; a brother Bernard; sister and brother-in-law Helen (Roger) Vandernack. In addition to his parents, Henry and Margaret, he was preceded in death by siblings: Dolores, Dick and Byron. Family and friends may gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, on Wednesday, October 11, at 11:00am with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating. There will be no formal visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. His nephews will serve as pallbearers in Ray’s honor. Our family would like to thank the caregivers at Bellin Hospital in the ICU and 4th floor Medical Unit, as well as their chaplains for their prayers and concern. Also, thank you to Unity Hospice for their caring attention to Ray.
