Randall "Randy" Wolcott

August 9, 1947 — December 7, 2018

Randall Lyle Wolcott entered eternal life on December 7, 2018, after battling cancer for a little over a year.

Randall was born on August 9, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, the only son of the late Lyle Veron Wolcott and Nola Jewel “Judy” (Barnes) Wolcott. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1965 and attended Michigan Technological University and Mott Community College.

After moving his family to Green Bay in 1974, Randall was employed at O&E Machine. In May of 1978, he started a career at Northern Engraving (PCMC) that lasted 31 years in which he was first a machine shop foreman and later the engineering supervisor. He retired in June of 2009. Not satisfied to just sit around and be retired, he returned to the workforce four months later when a former employee sought him out, taking on a key role at Badger Roll and Machine (Xerium Technologies). He worked at Badger Roll and Machine until the fall of 2018.

In the mid-‘80s, Randall fulfilled a lifelong dream and became an FAA-licensed private pilot. One of his greatest joys was taking others for rides in his airplane, especially his grandchildren. He and granddaughter Diana spent many hours together flying in the northeast Wisconsin skies. He was also interested in and enjoyed model railroading, much to the delight of his son and his grandchildren later in life.

For many years he enjoyed downhill skiing and took ski trips to Michigan and Colorado with his children and grandchildren. He had the opportunity to travel to Italy for work and made friendships that he maintained for the rest of his life. For many years, he and Diane traveled to the southern United States to enjoy the warmth during the winter months. Randall made friends wherever he went. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed feeding the wildlife that visited his backyard.

Randall was a devoted Packers fan although he much preferred watching them from the comfort of his couch, next to the fireplace. Randall was raised Catholic and took seriously the responsibility of passing on the faith to his children. He had recently started attending St. Matthew Parish in Green Bay.

Randall is survived by his fiancée and the love of his life for 23 years, Diane Osborne, of Allouez; children Christy (Vern) Miron of Baraga, Michigan; Jennifer Wolcott of Appleton; Tricia Herz of Owatonna, Minnesota; John (Kerry) Wolcott of Ledgeview (all from his first marriage to Patricia (Harjala) Rudebeck); and his mother Nola “Judy” Dalgarn of Allouez. He is also survived by Diane’s children Tara Conroy of Two Rivers, Jeff (Kate) Osborne of Green Bay, and Julie (Matt) McHenry of Green Bay, to whom he was a great father figure and role model. He is further survived by his grandchildren Mitchell Herbel, Nathan Miron, Kayla Herbel, Alejandro Najera-Wolcott, Delaney Wolcott, Jackson Wolcott, Greyson Herz, Peyton Herz, Diana Fligelman, Frank Fligelman, Jay Osborne and Stefanie (Bob) Holley and their children: Aidan, Reese and Allyssa. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Wolcott, and his step-father, Lawrence Dalgarn.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, on Tuesday, December 11, from 2-6pm. A funeral service will follow at 6:00pm with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating.
