Quentin "Tex" Velicer

January 9, 1941 — March 18, 2015

Quentin G. “Tex” Velicer, 74, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2015 in Kissimmee, FL. Son of the late Wencil and Lucille (Reynen) Velicer was born in Green Bay, WI. He graduated from Luxemburg High School and served his country in the Army National Guard of Wisconsin. Quentin married Paulette Morek on November 30, 1968 in Green Bay. He was employed by Hillcrest Homes of De Pere for 41 years. Quentin was a past member of the Brown County Builders Association (through Hillcrest Homes), Holy Martyrs of Gorcum, Green Bay, where he was on the Building and Maintenance Committee, School Board, and was former President of the Holy Name Society, and also served as President and Vice President of the Trump Lake Association. More recently, Quentin was President of the Parish Council of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Waubeno, WI, Vice President of (FACAL) Forest County Association of Lakes, and a member of the Forest County ATV Association. Quentin enjoyed the outdoors, sporting events and being involved. He was an avid fisherman who passed down this passion to his kids and grandchildren. For Quentin, just being at deer camp with family and friends was as rewarding as bagging a buck. Quentin was proud to be at his sons sporting events, which included the Rose Bowl and Holiday Bowl. He was also fortunate enough to attend the first two Super Bowls. Quentin shared 47 wonderful and memory-filled years with his wife, Paulette. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family. Anyone who knew Quentin knows that he always had a story to tell and was willing to put his own life on hold to help them out. He worked hard and played hard. Quentin made sure everyone who stopped shared a cocktail, garnished with his homemade pickles or dilly beans, and a laugh. Quentin was a kind and soft-hearted man who would do anything for anyone. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Paulette; children, Ted (Shannon) Velicer, Green Bay, and Jim (Sarah) Velicer, Sherwood; grandchildren: TJ and Zac Velicer and Lucy and Willie Velicer; sisters and brother-in-law: Dolores (Bill) Kuehl and Marlene McMillan; in-laws: Lyle Sager, Janet Velicer, Joe and Cindy Carney, Jack and Connie Donart, Paul and Diane Mangless, and Mark and Marian Faria. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Charlotte Morek; brother, Myron Velicer; sister, Grace Sager; and brother-in-law, John McMillan. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until the hour of Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview, with Fr.
