Priscilla Ann Sebranek passed away peacefully on 12/21/2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Priscilla Ann Rockweiler was born to Nicholas and Lillian Rockweiler of Cazenovia, Wisconsin on 9/27/1927. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings.
Priscilla married Ernest Cyril Sebranek (1924 –2007) in August of 1953. She is survived by her three children: Lisa Chenot (Charles) of Greenleaf, WI, Jane Charnetski (Terry Charles) of De Pere, WI, and John Sebranek (Jennifer) of Green Bay, WI. Priscilla is also survived by her 2 grandsons, Paul Nicholas and Henry James Sebranek.
Priscilla was raised on a farm in Hillsboro, WI. She was valedictorian of her 1945 class of Hillsboro Highschool. She went on to become the valedictorian of her graduating class in 1949 at St Therea’s College in Winona, MN where she received a bachelor’s degree in both vocal and organ music.
She taught elementary school music in East Troy, WI, until she and Ernest moved to Green Bay in 1957.
While raising her family, Priscilla taught private piano lessons in her home until she reached her 70th year. Each spring she would host double recitals for her students to perform for friends and family. She was a member of the Northeast Music Teachers Association that organized the piano competition for high school students.
Priscilla was an active and devoted member of St Francis parish in De Pere, Wi. For many years she was the choir director and organist. Her choir was so beautiful that people from all over the Green Bay area would come to hear her choir, especially Christmas Eve Midnight Mass. She had the gift of weaving those many different voices and personalities into one musical prayer. She remained the director of the funeral choir until her 80th birthday. Even after that, she kept her role as one of the officers of the Altar Rosery Society until nearly 90.
Priscilla was also an avid gardener. Her neighbors enjoyed her many perennial flowerbeds she tended to during her 60 years residing in Olden Glen in Ledgeview.
Her loving family was able to share her last Christmas with her at the annual Angel’s Touch Christmas party on 12/18 thanks to the tireless efforts of the staff at Angel’s Touch Assisted Living and Moments Hospice.
