Paul Francis Wicker

December 27, 1942 — July 23, 2016

Paul Francis Wicker, age 73, Greenleaf, was born to eternal life on July 23, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. The son of Edward and Christine (Denissen) Wicker was born December 27, 1942 in Green Bay. After graduating from East De Pere High School he joined the Army Reserves in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was united in marriage to Judy Klug on November 27, 1965 at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. After 40+ years he retired from White Clover Dairy as a truck driver and currently worked part-time at Fox Valley Auto Auction, which he loved. Paul was an active member of St. Clare Catholic Parish in Wrightstown, and a member of the Hollandtown Fire Department for approximately 40 years, which he really enjoyed. Paul was an avid Packer, Brewer and NASCAR fan, and enjoyed attending these events with his son and daughters. He also enjoyed WIR race night with his son, grandson Chris and granddaughters Heather and Stephanie, and later the younger grandchildren. Paul’s greatest enjoyment came from attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Paul and Judy enjoyed their travels, having been to Mexico, Jamaica, 2 cruises and a couple of bus trips with friends. They also enjoyed going on trips throughout the U.S. A week before he got sick, he came home from a month long trip to Florida and the southern states. Judy and Paul always looked forward to yearly vacations to Minocqua with friends and to St. Germaine with friends. Another favorite time was playing cards with friends for about 40 years and he was able to do it last week. Paul was a people person. He loved people around him and knew and talked to everyone. We would ask him who he finished talking to after a long conversation and he wouldn’t know, showing everyone knew him. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy; children: Amy (Jeff) Vickman, Missy (John) Vander Kelen, Shelly (Marty) Bruecker and Dan’s wife Tammy Wicker; grandchildren: Heather (Joel) Bush, Chris Wicker, Stephanie (special friend Nick) Springstroh, Angela Vickman, Michael Vickman, Jacob Bruecker and Danielle Bruecker; step-granddaughter Jayme (Jason) Przybylski; great-granddaughters Aria and Mirabelle; sisters and brothers: Bob (Bonnie) Wicker, Mary (Dick) Geurts, Dennis (Mary) Wicker, Janet (Ken) Brosig, Lee (Lois) Wicker, Nancy (Don) Platz, Bonnie (Larry) Sherril and Joanne (Rob) Smits; as well as nieces, nephews and other family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Dan; father-in-law and mother-in-law Rufus and Gertrude Klug; grandparents, step-grandson Bryan Vander Kelen; sisters-in-law: Lola (Klug) Malach and Laurie (Klug) Krueger. Other surviving in-laws include Butch Malach, Nancy (Dick) Micke, Joyce (Don) Ossmann, Myra (Ken) Jahnke and Steve (Cora) Klug, as well as nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Tuesday, July 26 from 5-8pm, with a parish prayer service concluding the evening.
