Patricia “Pat” Ruth Terrien, 91, of De Pere, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Green Bay to the late Levi and Celeste (Yuenger) Reignier on June 7, 1929, Pat was one of ten children. She was a 1948 graduate of Green Bay’s West High School and in 1949, she married the love of her life, Eugene Terrien, at Old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in De Pere.
Pat worked as a seamstress for many years in addition to lending her kind hands to the Ashwaubenon School District as a cook and crossing guard. Her favorite job, though, was that of a mother. She considered her children to be her greatest blessing and felt immense joy in raising them. In her free time, Pat could be found sewing, putting together puzzles, playing cards or bingo with friends, and enjoying the sunshine as she tended her flower garden.
Patricia had a great love for God. During her walk as a disciple of Jesus, she has been a Stephen Minister, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Mass and to the homebound, a participant in the prayer shawl ministry at Our Lady of Lourdes, and a member of their prayer tree. At the age of 81, Patricia began a three-year formation and study period to become a member of the Dominican Laity. On October 13, 2013, at the age of 84, she made her final profession as a Lay Dominican with the Queen of the Holy Rosary Chapter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Pat is survived by her children: Sue (Jack) Younger, Celeste Terrien, Aleece Dean, Roxanne (Marty) McAvoy, Tina (Matt) Wauters, and Bernie (Lynn) Terrien; her grandchildren: April Johnson, Paula Ebert, Jason Dean, Mathew Dean, Christopher Dean, Sarah LaBine, Jon McAvoy, Kelly McAvoy, Travis McAvoy, Cody McAvoy, Kendra Ohlinger, Andrea Collar, Alyson Filipa, and Thomas Hudock III; as well as many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Peter (Evelyn) Reignier, Theresa (Tom) Burke, and Kathy (Steve) Schmitt; sisters-in-law, Marge Reignier and Virginia Reignier; brother-in-law, Sonny Mooren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Preceding Pat in death were her husband, Eugene Terrien; her son, Jeff Terrien; her sisters: Carol Monfils, Mary Zoe Mooren, and Lynn Ann Reignier; and her brothers: Thomas Reignier, Jerry Reignier, and Michael Reignier, Sr.
Private family services for Pat will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in De Pere. Her final resting place will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
The family wishes to extend a deep and heartfelt thank you to Patricia’s daughter, Tina, for her selfless and unwavering devotion to Pat’s comfort and care, allowing her final days to be spent at home with those whom she so truly cherished. A special thank you also is extended to the Unity Hospice team for their kind and compassionate care.
