Patricia "Pat" Wanek

Patricia R. “Pat” (Maccoux) Wanek, 77, Allouez, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. She was born June 15, 1933 in Door County, daughter to the late Elmer and Eunice (Gilson) Maccoux. Pat graduated from Brussels High School in 1951. She married James Wanek on August 23, 1958 at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Rosiere, WI. Pat worked at Fort Howard Paper Co. for over 36 years. She was a long time member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and the Green Bay West Lions Club--where she received the distinguished Melvin Jones award for community service. Pat thoroughly enjoyed sewing and quilting, attending weekly classes and seminars at the Aging Resource Center, Fox Valley Tech, and Nancy’s Notions. She also enjoyed Packer games and spending time at the family cabin in Silver Cliff, WI. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. Pat will be deeply missed by her husband, James; five children: Carol Wanek, Diane DeVillers, Thomas (Lisa) Wanek, Green Bay, Robert Wanek, Boston, MA: Linda (Steve) Tabaska, Los Altos Hills, CA; son-in-law, Steve DeVillers; eight grandchildren: Jessica and Carey DeVillers, Brandon, Nichole, Michelle, and Christopher Tabaska, and Brittany and Colin Wanek; brothers: Vincent (Ella) Maccoux and Gary (Sandy) Maccoux; brother-in-law, Norbert (Martha) Wanek; sister-in-law, Yvonne Maccoux; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law; brother, Cletus Maccoux; sister, Rita Mae Maccoux; and sister-in-law, Mary Wanek. Friends may call Friday, March 18, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, where there will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Allouez. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at church, with Fr. Larry J. Seidl officiating. Interment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
