Patricia (Pat) A. Kitslaar, 91, a life-long resident of Green Bay, passed away peacefully early Christmas morning at Allouez Parkside Village, after an extended illness with Alzheimer’s Disease. Pat was born in Green Bay on March 17, 1927, the eldest child of the late Cyrus and Elizabeth (Bettine) LaPlant.
Pat attended St. Francis Cathedral Elementary School and graduated from East High School.
She was united in marriage to William (Bill) H. Kitslaar on December 27, 1950 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Pat’s Catholic faith was an integral part of her life. She was a long-term member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Allouez where she regularly attended mass until her illness.
Pat was a part of the staff when W G & R Furniture opened in May, 1950. She later joined her husband and brother-in-law when they opened Kitslaar’s Carriage House, an Ethan Allen Gallery on South Oneida in January 1973. Pat remained an active management member of the Ethan Allen Gallery until her retirement in 1992.
She created lasting memories for her children spending their summers at their cottage. These memories and family traditions where later extended to her grandchildren. Pat cherished her roll of “Grandma.”
She is survived by her four children; Peter, Pembine, WI; Joe (Dalene) Kitslaar, Rochester, MN; Betsy (Mark Lidke) Edina, MN; Tricia (Chuck) Parshall, Cedarburg, WI; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and four siblings Jay, Joan, Tom and Leanne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, great grand-daughter Violet, and brother Cyrus (Bud).
Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Parish Family, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez, on Saturday, January 5, from 9:00am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O.Praem officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
