Odette Mcneely

Celebrating the passing of Odette N. McNeely, age 104, on August 25, 2019.
She is survived by her son Thomas McNeely, Kathleen (spouse), grandchildren Paula and Ian, nieces Karen Riha and Sandy Kudelka and their families. Passing before her was husband Kenneth McNeely and a brother Pierre Napolitan.
She was educated in Illinois and worked until meeting husband Kenneth at a dance, they were married on Christmas day 1935. During the wartime of WWII. she worked in a canning factory while her husband was serving in the Navy. She was a talented and all-around skilled woman who enjoyed time spent at Indiana Dunes State Park, Door County and her many gardens she created at home. For 17 years she opened her home to help her aging parents Augusta and Antonio in their later years. She is best known as being a foster mother for several children and as a housewife. She was a loving mother to Thomas and his children, as a proud babysitter. She was a special friend to Thomas's spouse Kathleen in later life.
Graveside services will be held and she will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois.
