Norman ""Norm"" Mcclintock

July 17, 1932 — September 3, 2017

Norman G. McClintock, 85, Bellevue and formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017. On July 17, 1932 he was born in Comanche, Texas to the late James Henry and Alma McClintock. As a young child his family moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he received his education. During Norm’s junior year of high school he joined the Navy ROTC; during his first year of college he was called to active duty where he served as aviation store keeper and gunner on a naval destroyer during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Navy, he attended the University of Texas-Austin for four years. In 1963, he married Carolyn Hendries in Waukegan, IL, and together they shared 54 years of marriage. In 1970, they relocated to Manitowoc and in 2012 moved to Bellevue. He loved the Packers, his computer, happy hour, and especially visits from his granddaughter Molly. Norm also enjoyed to drive and go on trips to Wisconsin and Michigan Casinos. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie Post 706 of Manitowoc and the AMVETS Post 99 of Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn, daughters: Jena (Joseph) Masterson of Highland Village, TX and Lia (Gary) Steinbrecher of De Pere; grandson Ryan McClintock of Howard and granddaughter Molly Steinbrecher of De Pere, who he was very proud of. He is further survived by a special niece Barbara Reinhart of Texas; two sisters-in-law: Jeanne Meyers of Green Bay and Suzanne (John) Harvey of Manitowoc; brother-in-law, Walter (Brenda) Hendries, Jr., Mishicot, as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alma; in-laws: Lucille and Walter Hendries; a sister Jo Leatrice Polansky; brother James Harold (Dolly) McClintock; brother-in-law Peter Meyers. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere, on Friday, September 8, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm. Military honors will be accorded at 6:00pm by the Navy. Our family would like to thank the first responders who assisted Norm. Your compassionate care was exceptional.
