Norma J. Birr

Norma J. Birr, 94, De Pere, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011, at a local hospital. She was born January 28, 1917 in Neenah, daughter to the late Richard and Mary (Lansing) Marquardt. She married Howard Birr, February 14, 1942, and he preceded her in death December 25, 1977. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wrightstown, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the Needle Club. In her younger years, Norma enjoyed camping and bowling. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Hendricks, Wrightstown; two grandchildren: Chris (Todd) Schudy, Neenah; and Michael (Shannon) Hendricks, Kewauskum, WI; two sisters-in-law, Vera Birr and Hannah Marquardt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Patrick Kohanski; and a son-in-law, John Hendricks; and her step-mother, Ella Huelesbeck; sister, Lucille Schmidt; and two brothers, Lawrence Marquardt and Richard Bauer. Family and friends may call Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Wrightstown. Memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m., with the Rev. Matthew Vik officiating.
