Norma C Malewiski

Norma Malewiski, 101, of Phoenix, AZ and formerly from Denmark, WI passed away Saturday, April 30,2022.
Norma was born January 5, 1921 to Lawrence & Matilda (Jorgenson) Kafka in the Town of New Denmark. She attended Langes Corners Grade School and graduated from Denmark High School in 1938. She was awarded the Good Citizenship Medal in High School. Norma was a switchboard operator in Denmark, was employed as bookkeeper at Kriwanek Garage and then with Kafka Brothers Trucking for 20 years. She also worked for the Denmark Press.

On August 12, 1944 she married Bernard Malewiski and traveled with her husband while he served his country as pilot in the United States Army Air Corps. Ben preceded her in death November 1, 1997.

Norma was a member of All Saints Altar Society, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 75 years and also on the Advisory Board at the Denmark Senior Center. Her service to these organizations included a time as president and also a term as president of the Brown County Council of American Legion Auxiliary. For six years she helped with Meals on Wheels at the Denmark Senior Center.

Norma moved to Phoenix, AZ with her son and family in 2007. Just like all her life she made new friends and kept
in touch with old friends and relatives. She enjoyed all of them.
Her home was always open to everyone, especially nieces and nephews for cookies and chat. Family and friends also enjoyed when she treated them to raised dumplings.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Pollard and grand- daughter Molly Pollard of Illinois and son, Richard & Mary and grand-son Jonathan & Christina of Arizona.
She is further survived by brother Clem & Theresa Kafka and sister Carol Kreft.

She was preceded in death by parents, parents-in-law, husband, sister and brothers: Doris & Eugene Lodl, Clayton & Marcie Kafka, Harry Kreft and John & Ann Kafka. Ben’s family: Tony Malewiski, Tom & Hazel Malewiski, Hank & Marian Malewiski, Leo & Betty Malewiski, Dorothy & Bill Leiterman and Rose & Harold Luedtke.

There will be visitation at All Saints Catholic Church 145 Claude St, Denmark, on Friday May 27, 2022 from 1:00pm to 3:45pm with Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00pm. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care of Denmark is assisting the family with arrangements.
