Neva E. (Jewell) Meintzer,93, of De Pere, WI, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2019. She was born Feb. 11, 1925, Kirkland, Illinois, to the late Charles and Karin (Erickson) Jewell. She was a graduate of Elgin High School. Neva married Gail Meintzer on June 21, 1947, in Elgin, Ill. Neva had been employed at the Milwaukee Railroad, was a department head at Block & Kuhl, and also a representative for Gibson Greeting Card Company. Neva was very proud of her time volunteering at several local organizations, including St. Vincent De Paul of Green Bay. She was a member of the Homemakers Club and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gail; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Pamela Hall, Marcia Gschwender, Janice and David Knorowski, Linda and Michael Spence and one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Susan Meintzer; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte (James) Nicoll; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Jim Hall; brothers, Glenn (Betty) Jewell, Chuck (Barbara) Jewell; grandson, Lucas Spence; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Birch Creek Assisted Living Facility and Aseracare Hospice for care given to Neva. Interment at River Valley Memorial Garden will take place at a later date. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
