Napoleon “Pol” Leonardo Carlos Manibog, 70, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and son on Monday, June 5, 2023.
Pol was born the middle child of seven children to Atty. Emiterio Sr and Ana Manibog in Makati City, Philippines on July 15, 1952. Growing up in a military family, Pol followed in the footsteps of his father. At the age 16 he graduated high school and joined the Philippine Merchant Institute and was accepted to the Philippine Military at age 18, in which he served for 10 years. He was part of Scout Ranger Class 15. Pol also served for Former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. as a member of the Presidential Security Group in the Philippines.
During his military career Pol obtained two college degrees, a BA in Political Science and a BS in Education. After serving in the Presidential Security Group, Pol transitioned into teaching World History at Fort Bonifacio High School for 14 years. His students described Pol as a fun-loving teacher. In 1987, he met his loving wife, Emelda Llanita, who was also a teacher at Fort Bonifacio High School. They married on December 23, 1996, and welcomed their only child, JC, in September 1999. JC brought much joy to his parents, and their world revolved around him. On August 10, 2000, Pol and his family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin where he worked at Woodman’s Food Market until his retirement in 2017.
Through the years, Pol enjoyed countless hobbies: fishing, gardening, shooting, reading and fixing everything. You name it, he could fix it! Pol and his family loved traveling; from road trips across the US and Canada to flying to the Philippines and Japan. Together, they created lifelong meaningful memories. He loved being with family and friends, there was never a dull moment when he was around!
Pol was preceded in death by his parents, Atty. Emiterio Sr. and Ana Manibog, and eldest brother, Edgardo Manibog. He is survived by his wife, Emelda; his son, JC; his siblings, Lina (James) Kestner, Emiterio Jr. (Emma), Deo, George (Evelyn) and Marissa; countless nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces.
