Nancy Madden

January 5, 1945 — March 19, 2022

Nancy Kay (Brown) Madden was born on January 5, 1945, the only child of Bernard and Wilma (Heinkel) Brown, in Rice Lake,
Wisconsin. Her earthly journey ended on March 19, 2022, the feast of St. Joseph. She now resides in the Kingdom of her Father, eagerly awaiting the resurrection of her renewed body, according to his promises. Hers was a life of service in the name of Christ, first to her family, but also spending the great bulk of her life as a registered nurse, caring for all types of patients in Rice Lake, Madison, Portsmouth, Virginia, St. Louis, Missouri and ultimately as a parish nurse at St. Bernadette parish in Appleton, then St. Clare parish in Wrightstown, Wisconsin. She was instrumental in developing and nurturing the Prayer Shawl Ministry in both church communities.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her husband, Michael, of nearly 38 years, her three sons, Chad Larson, Cory Larson, and Brendan Madden, her grandchildren Amber, Alex (McKenzie), Anika, and Aiden, and great-grandson Greyson. She and Mike were covenanted members of the Appleton Branch
of the People of Praise Christian Community for over 30 years.

Special thanks to all her caregivers, especially Hilary Hetzel, APNP, Dr. Steven Price and his assistant Deb, Dr.Ghada Elsayed, the Ascension infusion nurses, especially Kelly, and the Compassus Hospice staff, especially RNs Heidi and Michele, and aide Ashley.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, March 25, beginning at 4 pm, with a vigil service at 7 pm at St. Clare Parish, St. Paul site in Wrightstown. The funeral Mass, celebrating our shared belief in the resurrection, will held at 11 am Saturday, March 26, at the church, with visitation before the service beginning at 9:30 am. Fr. Brian Wideman will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph cemetery in Appleton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nancy’s name to the
Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Clare Parish (stclareagw.org).

“Your mission is now complete. Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter now into the glorious and joyful rest prepared for you.”
