Myrna Jean Williquette

Myrna passed away peacefully at home on April 25th, surrounded by family, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 4, 1958 to William and Lola Jaakkola of Bruce Crossing, MI. She grew up riding horses and spending her days in the wonderful outdoors of the U.P. She graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School (class of 1976) and earned her degree from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI and went on to co-own Bay Reporting Service, LLC for 22 successful years. Myrna married the love of her life William Bill Williquette on April 4, 1980. They had three children together, Maria, Michelle, and Mark. Myrna was a kind, loving, and incredibly generous woman who was always proud of her family. She loved the outdoors, gardening, crafts, art, playing with her grandchildren, the Packers, and visiting Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. On a beautiful summers day you could count on finding Myrna swimming at a gorgeous beach in Door County or in the U.P. Myrna was an avid watercolor painter and artist, decorating her home with many lovely pieces. She is survived by her mother Lola, her loving husband, of 35 years, Bill; her children Maria (Indra), Michelle (Jim) Koerner, and Mark (Kylee); her dear grandchildren Emma and Sophia; her sister Kerry (Terry) Nisbett, nephew Jason, and niece Kirsten. Myrna was preceded in death by her father William Jaakkola. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere, on Wednesday, April 29, from 4-8pm. Visitation will continue of Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church, 700 S. Superior Street, De Pere, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday with Pastor Bo Baumeister officiating.
