Mildred "Milly" Aschenbrenner

Mildred (Milly Vanden Hoogen) Aschenbrenner, 82 De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning July 29, 2012 at her home. The daughter of the late William and Anna (Van Summeren) Vanden Hoogen was born Aug. 2, 1929 in De Pere. She married Rufus Aschenbrenner on Sept. 14, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. Milly had many special friendships from playing bingo. She loved to watch sports on T.V. especially the Packers and Brewers. Milly also loved to sew, garden, and bake an endless supply of cookies and Christmas turtles. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, De Pere, a member of the Christian Ladies Society and was a Co-Chair of the Green Thumb booth at St. Mary Church picnic. Milly is survived by her loving husband Rufus Aschenbrenner, her eight children Diana (Roger) Loeh, Joan Nackers, Jean (Dan) Van Rens, Wayne (Alice) Aschenbrenner, David (Ann) Aschenbrenner, Mary (Carl) Ambrosius, James Aschenbrenner and special friend Bobbie, and Janet (Brad) Gay. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. Milly is also survived by her sister Minnie VanLanen, sisters-in-law Mary Ann Vanden Hoogen, Peggy Vanden Hoogen, Mary Pat Aschenbrenner, brother-in-law Robert (Jeanette) Aschenbrenner, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 infant granddaughters, sisters Cora (Frank) Kobes and Frank’s second wife Toni Kobes, Susan (Raymond) Hutjens, Harriet (Neil Kocken) and Harriet’s second husband Gerald Komorosky, Frances (Roland Hendricks) and her second husband Lorten Penn, Richard Vanden Hoogen, Clement Vanden Hoogen, Clarence Vanden Hoogen, William (Del) Vanden Hoogen, Joseph Vanden Hoogen and Harry Vanden Hoogen. Brother-in-law: Elmer Van Lanen. Rufus’s parents Antone and Albertina, and brothers-in-law Harvey Aschenbrenner and Jerome Aschenbrenner. Family and friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave., De Pere from 4 until 8p.m. Tuesday July 31, 2012. Parish prayer service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday with pastoral minister Steve Donovan officiating. Visitation will continue Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. until 10:45a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment at Mt Olivet Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
