Mildred "Millie" Vander Heiden

May 13, 1924 — January 6, 2018

Mildred “Milly” Vander Heiden, age 93, of Kaukauna, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 6, 2018. She was born May 13, 1924 in Isaar, Wisconsin to the late Arnold and Antoinette (Vander Velden) Van Hammond. Prior to marriage, Mildred worked at Zwicker Knitting Mill and St. Elizabeth Hospital. On May 14, 1947 she married Lloyd Vander Heiden and they celebrated 57 years of marriage before Lloyd passed in 2004. Mildred was a loving and caring wife and mother. Life on the farm presented the opportunity for her to stay at home and care for the children. A role that came very natural to her. Mildred was a gentle soul. She welcomed anyone to sit at her table for family gatherings. The more the merrier. Survivors include her three daughters: Betty (Guy) Senso of Kaukauna, Joyce (Tom) Lamers of Appleton, Janet (Mike) Vander Loop of Darboy; three sons: Bill (Margie) of Kaukauna, Bob (Deb) of Darboy, Mark (Sue) of Kaukauna; 15 grandchildren: Paul (Renee) Senso, Sarah Van Heuklon, Jill Senso, Sara (Doug) Van Duyse, Lisa (Lance) Van Straten, Craig (Kelly) Vander Heiden, Sally Kiefer, Jay (special friend Niki) Vander Heiden, Eric (Karen) Vander Loop, Lana (Jeff) Shulse, Cory (Marissa) Vander Heiden, Chad (Courtney) Vander Heiden, Troy (Melissa) Vander Heiden, Tyler (special friend Clair) Vander Heiden, Stepahnie Vander Heiden; 21 great-grandchildren: Madison and Mason Senso, Carley Verhagen, Liam Van Heuklon, Logan and Caden Van Duyse, Chase Van Straten, Jordi and Hunter Siebers, Randy and Casen Vander Heiden, Grace and Michael Keifer, Alex and Will Vander Loop, Austin Shulse, Chloe, Olivia, Henry, Hunter and Morgan Vander Heiden. Mildred is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sons Randy and Peter; siblings: Johanna and Harriet Van Hammond, John and John Joseph Van Hammond, Agnes (George) Wydeven, Frances (Joseph) Gerrits, Lorriane (Earl Debruin) (Milton) Daniels, Verna (Tony) Gloudemans, Martin (Alice) Van Hammond and Joseph (Gladys) Van Hammond; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Francis and Joseph (Rosie) Vander Heiden and Lorraine (Orville) Kieffer. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Parish- St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Wednesday, January 10, from 1:00pm until 3:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00pm Wednesday with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Snyderville. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. Our family would like to express a very special thanks to the staff at St. Paul Villa. The hospice staff and St. Paul Elder Care.
