Michael Urban Jonas

Michael Urban Jonas, 51, passed away unexpectedly Monday October 22, 2018. He was born on April 23, 1967 in Menominee, MI.


Mike was a 1985 graduate of Abbot Pennings High School. He went on to get a BA in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Mike spent over a decade working for the G.M. Popkey Company in sales and management.
He spent the last 14 years working in the Special Education Department at Foxview Intermediate School in De Pere. Mike was known for his kindness and compassion and loved his students and the special education staff.

Mike loved to read and watch sports, especially the Brewers. He also enjoyed the water including swimming, boating, and fishing. Mike had a lifelong love of music. His genuine smile and warmth will be missed by all.

Mike is survived by his parents, James P. Jonas and Judith M. “Dolly” Jonas (Popkey), his brothers James M. Jonas (Janet Kelly), Daniel G. Jonas (Choon Yee Ho), John P. Jonas (Jodi McCue), his nieces and nephew, Margaret K. Jonas, Eleanor L. Jonas, and Patrick J. Jonas. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. In addition, Mike is survived by a number of close friends that were like family and meant the world to him.

A memorial service will be held at Lambeau Field in the Champions Club on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow from 12:00 to 2:30pm. Park at the Fleet Farm Gate off Ridge Rd. and enter through the Shopko Gate at the south end of the stadium.
