Michael (Mike) Geurts, 75, De Pere passed away peacefully Sunday evening, September 17, 2023 at home after battling cancer.
Son of Arthur & Erma (Heim) Geurts, was born October 27, 1947 in Green Bay.
Mike married Louise Haen on February 14, 1968 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Mike worked at Nichol Tool & Machine, Green Bay Western Railroad for 20 years, retiring as manager of Locomotives.
Mike liked to hunt, fish, garden, and go up north to his cabin on Green Lake. He especially loved being a grandpa and great grandpa.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Louise, children; Doug (significant other Jackie) Geurts, Michelle (Gary Flynn) West, grandchildren; Jacob & Jeremy (Abby), great grand-daughter Rayna, siblings Sharon (Ken) Peters, Sandy (Marv) Clarksen, Linda Robertson (Michael List), Kelly (Donna) Geurts, Rick (Sherri) Geurts, Mary Geurts, Jeff (Debbie) Geurts, Perry Geurts, and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, parents in-law Peter & Catherine Haen, Brother Scott Geurts, and Brother-in-law Tim Robertson.
Family and friends may gather at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Friday, September 22 from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated for Mike at 11:00 am with Rev. Josuva Arulanandu. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Green Bay Oncology, Dr. David Groteluschen, Brown County Police & Rescue.
