Michael Brosteau

April 5, 1941 — March 8, 2024

Michael R. Brosteau, of De Pere, passed away on March 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 5, 1941, in Green Bay, to the late Harold and Eleanor (Bowers) Brosteau. He attended Premontre High School in Green Bay and graduated from UW-Whitewater. Michael spent most of his career at KI, he was a dedicated, hard-working man that many looked up to.

Michael married Bonnie Smits on April 4, 1964, at St. Mary Catholic Church of De Pere. They celebrated 50 wonderful years together, along with their two children and families, before her passing in 2014. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, and relaxing at his winter home in Florida. Mike spent many weekends up north in Minocqua driving his boat, fishing, and enjoying time with friends and family around the campfire sipping a martini. Mike always had a smile on his face. If he was not spending time with loved ones, Mike could be found on the golf course or cruising in his red golf cart around The Villages. Although we are saddened by his passing, we can smile knowing he is now playing the fairways in heaven with his loving wife.

He is survived by two children and their families: Scott (Mary) Brosteau and children: Mitch Brosteau, and Kirstyn (Isaac) Guyette; Amy (Tim) Grovogel and children: Kennedy (Shawn) Grovogel-Prokash, and Sawyer Grovogel; a brother: Tom (Bonnie J.) Brosteau; sisters-in-law: Mary Kay Gabriel and Sandy Smits; a brother-in-law; Ronald Blohowiak; as well as other family members.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Bonnie (Smits) Brosteau and his parents, Harold and Eleanor; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Irene Smits; sister: Kay Blohowiak; and brothers-in-law: Tom Smits and Chuck Gabriel.
