Melvin A. Green

Melvin A. Green, 93, Kaukauna, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. He was born December 17, 1919 in Kaukauna, WI, son of the late Joseph and Ardene (Van Hoof) Green. Melvin married Loretta Van Rossum on June 1, 1944 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. He farmed for 30 years on his own dairy farm, and then worked at Kaukauna Club Cheese for ten years. Melvin was a member of the American Dairy Association, and he enjoyed camping, biking, woodworking, square dancing, and bowling. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, where he was an usher. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 69 years, Loretta, Kaukauna; ten children: Joni VandeHey, Appleton, Kenneth (Kathy) Green, Kaukauna, Sherry Green, Tucson, AZ, Glenn (Kathy) Green, Appleton, Peggy (Tom) Galloway, De Pere, Linda (Chuck) Roehrborn, Kaukauna, Wendy (Jay) Kassera, Hortonville, Wayne (Carolyn) Green, Greenleaf, Kevin Green, Darboy, Dori (Jim) Villenauve, Green Bay; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marion (Merle) Van Handel, Green Bay, and Agnes Nolan of De Pere; and numerous nieces and nephews. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Rieter, and Laura Achten; brother, Harvey Green; and brothers-in-law, Bob Nolan and Jim Achten. Family and friends may call Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Clare Parish-St.Paul site, Wrightstown, where there will be a parish prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 10:30 a.m., with Fr.
