Mayme M. Bartman

Mayme M. Bartman, 87, De Pere, formerly of Denmark, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010. She was born January 23, 1923 in Stangelville, WI, daughter to the late John and Mary (Fabian) Jerovetz. In June of 1940, Mayme married Donald Rasmussen, and together they farmed in Denmark until his death in 1964. She later married Norman Bartman, November 26, 1966, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1977. Mayme had a companion of 34 years, Bob DeGroot, who passed away 2 years ago. Mayme and Bob loved to dance. She was a wonderful wife and friend to her husbands. She was employed as a cook at Riverside Ballroom and also worked in housekeeping at Bellin and St. Vincent Hospitals. Mayme also enjoyed gardening and flowers, and she loved to help people. Survivors include her three children: Carol (Joe) DeGroot, Two Rivers, Dorothy (Gene) Rollin, Green Bay, and Jerry (Jean) Rasmussen, Green Bay; seven grandchildren: Debbie (Larry) Mitchler, Richard DeGroot, Jim (Joann) DeGroot, Robert (Melissa) DeGroot, Carrie (Steve) LaFrombois, Mark Rollin, and Gina Rollin; six great-grandchildren: Todd, Melissa, Owen, Caleb, Zachary, and Kevin; one sister, Ruth Koudelka, Kewaunee; and one aunt, Anna Gullo, Green Bay. Mayme was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; longtime companion, Bob; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Jerovetz; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Koudelka. Family and friends may call Monday, September 20, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday at church, with Fr. Patrick Beno officiating. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Denmark.
