Maryanne (Muss) Williams passed from this life to the next the same way she lived - with strength and grace on May 18, 2013. She was born August 24, 1928 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Steffen) Muss. She lived in Minneapolis, MN for 10 years, and spent most of her life in Green Bay. Maryanne was active in her church, the Green Bay Symphony, ArtStreet, the League of Women Voters, and the YWCA. She was an accomplished artist, loved to golf, garden, and watch her Packers – and never answered truthfully about her age or her height. Most importantly, Maryanne was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. Maryanne will be dearly missed by her five children: Jay (Madonna) Williams, Dick (Patti) Williams, Bob Williams, Michele (John) Abbott, and Cheryl (Chris) Miller; her brother, Jim (Diane) Muss; sister, Barbara Camel; sister-in-law, Elaine Williams; along with her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John C. “Jack” Williams; grandson, Chris Funk; and her parents, Ed and Mary Muss. A celebration of the life of Maryanne Williams will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez, on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Paul Demuth officiating, assisted by Maryanne's son, Deacon Dick Williams. Cotter Funeral Home Cremation Services, De Pere, is assisting with local arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HEADRUSH, Madison, WI; The Medical College of Wisconsin Neuroscience Research Center, Milwaukee; or the Green Bay Symphony.
