Mary "Monnie" Umentum

Mary Ellen “Monnie” Umentum, 53, Denmark, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 28, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 21, 1958 in Green Bay, daughter to Lawrence Clayton and Marcella (Dworak) Kafka. She graduated from Denmark High School in 1977, and married Burt Umentum on November 12, 1988. Monnie was employed by AC Nielsen and Country Kids Pediatric Therapy. She also worked as a behavioral line therapist for over ten years with Max, who was very special to her. She was devoted to her daughter, Chelsea, and she enjoyed spending time with her sisters and good friends. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Burt; daughter, Chelsea; father, Lawrence Clayton Kafka; brothers and sisters: Robert Kafka, Vicky (Steven) Abts, Cindy (Frank) VandeHey, Tom (Lisa) Kafka, Julie (Mark) Larsen, Jeanne Hansen, Joanne (Clarence) Harris, Jim Kafka, Kristine (Derek) Warner; father-in-law, Dick Umentum; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tom (Julie) Umentum, Jeannie (Lane) Gerhke, Marty (Stephanie) Umentum, Mike Umentum, Steve Umentum, Dan (Mary) Umentum, Jeff (Debbie) Umentum, and Pat (special friend-Angel) Umentum; many nieces, nephews, friends; and her cats, Lucky and Maddie. Monnie was preceded in death by her mother, Marcella; sister, Patricia; and her mother-in-law, Delores Umentum. Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 31, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at church, with Fr. Ron Colombo officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Mausoleum.
