Mary L. (Patton) Plouff, 89, De Pere, passed away peacefully Monday, December 31, 2012 at San Luis Rehab Center in Green Bay. She was born May 20, 1923 in Glenmore, WI to Henry and Elizabeth (Carter) Patton. Mary was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of De Pere, where she served in the Altar Rosary Society. She was also active in the De Pere Sportsman Club and the Izaak Walton League. She enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, traveling, spoiling her dog Buffy, and participating in community events. Mary was united in marriage to Bernard Plouff in 1968. Her life was enriched as she became mother and mentor to Barney’s four children Judy, Sharon, Joseph, and Daniel. Mary was very thankful for her family and it brought her great pleasure to watch it grow. Mary will be deeply missed by her three surviving children, Sharon (Ron) Geurts, Green Bay, Joseph (Lavonne Solem) Plouff of Prairie Farm, and Daniel (Carol) Plouff, Silverdale, WA; son-in-law Russell Schumal, Pickeral; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Patton; two sisters-in-law, Laurie Patton and Louise Patton and nieces and nephews. The extended Plouff family of sisters and brothers, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews that welcomed Mary into their family will miss her greatly. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bernard, daughter Judy Schumal, sister Dolores (Hank) Jerovitz, and two brothers Martin and George Patton. Family and friends may call Thursday, January 3, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of Mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at church, with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.
