Mary Jane (Aerts) Smith

Mary Jane Smith, 69, Wrightstown, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at a local hospital. The daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy (Klika) Aerts was born on September 24, 1946 in Green Bay. Mary attended nursing school and worked for many doctors and clinics, with the latest being before her retirement, working at Prevea Clinic. On May 5, 2001 she married Ron Smith at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. She was an active member of St. Clare Parish - St. Paul Site in Wrightstown. Mary loved to sew, go shopping, playing cards and collecting cardinals. She did not have her own children, but enjoyed all of her nieces and nephews as her own. Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Ron; brothers and sisters: Leo (Mary) Aerts; Dennis (Mary) Aerts; Carol Liebergen; Norma Aerts; Rose (Don) Coenen; brother-in-law, Paul (Monika) Smith; sister-in-law, Patricia Johnson; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers: Ron Aerts and Jerry (Bonnie) Aerts; niece, Nicole Verbeten; brother-in-law’s: Bill Johnson; Melvin Liebergen. Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Catholic Parish – St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Tuesday, August 30 from 1:00pm until 5:15pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mary Jane at 5:30pm with Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown.
