Martha Sue Prust

Martha Hischke Prust passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023. Martha was born January 5, 1936, at home in the town of Howe, the youngest of Otto and Anna Hischke’s 8 children. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran in Hayes, WI and was a graduate from Suring High School. She married James Prust in a double wedding with her twin sister Marie on July 6, 1957.

Martha worked for many years as a housekeeper at Ramada Inn and later worked cleaning schools for Wrightstown. She loved watching all the high school sports at the high school and was always up on how they were doing. She was also an avid Packers fan. But her greatest joy was her family. She loved babysitting for her grandkids and great-grandkids. She always enjoyed attending any, and all, of their school functions.

She was a loving, kind, giving mom and showed us how to love our family. She loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed having a large party for everyone in our family around Christmas. I don’t know how we all fit in the house but we did and Mom loved having everyone around. She did it every year until she physically couldn’t.

Her faith was strong, and she was ready to go home to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior.

Martha is survived by her children: Jean Reynolds, Jim (Tami) Prust and John (Lois) Prust; grandchildren: Jared (Lindsay) Theunis, Ryan (Emily) Theunis, Stuart Prust, Erin Prust and Michaela Prust; great granddaughters: Stella, Amani, Charlotte, and Amelia. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, David (Betty) Prust; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents; her husband of 63 years, James; her parents-in-law, Earl and Emma (Fischer) Prust; her brothers: Otto, Herman, and Conrad; her sisters: Hannah, Freida, Rose, and her twin sister and lifelong best friend, Marie.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Alleluia Lutheran Church, 6725 Elmro Road, Town of Wrightstown from 9:00am until 10:45am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Rev. Mark Walters officiating. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
