Mark T. Christensen

August 13, 1963 — August 29, 2022

Staff Sergeant Mark T. Christensen, 59, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 29th, 2022. He was born on August 13, 1963, the son of Carl and Lucille (Roulette) Christensen. On April 15, 2017, he married the love of his life, Heidi Olson.

Mark graduated from De Pere High School in 1982. After high school, Mark enlisted in the United States Army. Upon completion of active duty, he joined the 890th Transportation Company, US Army Reserve. Mark’s Reserve unit deployed to Kuwait City in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After Mark’s time in the service, he, along with a few of his Brothers in Arms, founded the Desert Veterans of Wisconsin. Professionally, Mark was employed by the Oneida Tribe of Indians for nearly 30 years.

During Mark’s free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley, listening to music, and spending every moment he could at the camper (his little slice of the pie) with his dog, Hudson, his wife, Heidi, his brother, Jimmer, and the Wildlife Campground family. He was always there to lend a hand and never looked for anything in return. Mark loved to dance and have fun. He played the best air guitar and remained positive, even when things didn’t go as planned. He believed in living for today, wisely reminding us that you can’t change yesterday.

In addition to his wife, Heidi, he is survived by his children, Sylvia and Teddy Christensen; step- sons Tanner and Peter Olson; brothers and sisters, Margaret (Tom) Calhoun, Allen (Judy) Christensen, Jimmer (Judy) Christensen, Tory (Anita) Christensen, Lotty (Bill) Peters, LuAnn Christensen, Hans (Bonnie) Christensen, Carl Christensen Jr., Lynn Christensen (Mike); Father-in-Law, Johannes Biegert; Brother-in-Law, Peter (Theresa) Biegert; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Phillip (Wendy) Cornelius.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chris Christensen; and Mother-in-Law, Cookie Biegert.

Mark’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dave and Eric Schwede, Tim Woller, the Birnamwood Volunteer Rescue, and the Emergency Room staff at Marshfield Medical Center.
