Marjorie Osen Switzer

January 25, 1917 — August 31, 2010

Long time De Pere resident Marjorie Osen Switzer passed away Tuesday August 31, 2010. Midge was born in Milwaukee on January 25, 1917 to Clifford and Florence (Clausen) Osen. A graduate of Lawrence College, Midge was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Midge married Russell A. Switzer on June 14, 1941. They enjoyed 66 happy years together. An avid Packer fan, Midge was active with the YWCA, PEO, Neighborly Club, Service League, De Pere Women’s Club, Square Dance Club, Grace Lutheran Church Sewing Circle, and Red Cross Blood Drives. Midge knit hundreds of stocking caps for hospital newborns. Midge was preceded in death by her husband Russell, her parents, and her brothers, Clifford and Robert Osen. Sisters-in-law: Geraldine and Donna, and also many dear friends. She is survived by her 4 children, daughter, Ann (Dean) Sperle of Freeport,IL, 3 sons, Richard (Marge) Switzer, John (Jane) Switzer and Bill (Julie) Switzer all of De Pere. Her family also includes 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. The family will welcome friends at the Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, Saturday, September 4, 2010. A memorial service will be held at Cotter at 11:30a.m. Saturday with Rev. Julie Wrubbel- Lange officiating. Entombment will be next to Russell at Shrine of the Good Shephard Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be expressed to the Switzer family at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
