Marjorie M. (Peterson) Schneider

May 12, 1918 — September 23, 2014

Marjorie Mae Schneider, 96, of De Pere, was reunited with her beloved husband, the late John “Jack” K. Schneider, on September 23, 2014. Marjorie was born on May 12, 1918 to the late Nels and Elsie (Weber) Peterson. After graduating in 1936 from Union Free High School, Waterford, Wisconsin, she married the love of her life, and together they raised their two sons, Larry and Bob. Marjorie held the position of executive secretary to the Waukesha County Board chairman for over thirty-five years. Marjorie moved to De Pere in 1990 to be closer to her family. Marjorie was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, baking, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marge would often say, “Make the most of every day. They go so fast. Study hard and work hard in school. Remember that you’re never too old to learn new things. You will need knowledge in later life, so remember to put forth total effort.” Marjorie is survived by a son, Larry (Sandra) Schneider, De Pere; a son, Robert Schneider, Frederic, Wisconsin; a brother John (Dorothy) Peterson, Elephant Butte, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Tracy (Joseph) Trombley, Jill (Arne) Sandberg, Deborah (David) Duquaine, Robert Schneider, Jr., Cynthia Schneider; five great-grandchildren, Heather Duquaine, Jessica Schneider-Cardarelle, Brittany Duquaine, Nicholas Schneider-Cardarelle, and Stephanie Schneider. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Elsie Peterson; husband, John K. Schneider; and her brother, Nels Peter Peterson. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 1, at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 S. Prairie Ave, Waukesha, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Prairie Home Cemetery will follow the service.
